The goal you are working toward should be measurable and you should remind yourself of what it is on a daily basis. So much changes from day to day that it’s easy to forget what we started out toward in the first place. Keeping from getting distracted is a major challenge. Priorities are subject to influences, but your principles shouldn’t change.
- Write down your principles – What are they?
- Do not forget what you are working toward – What is it?
- What do you need to DO every day to get there? – Do not give yourself too many responsibilities or you will QUIT.
- Be honest – Who do you want to be?
If you are consistent in measuring your progress toward reaching your goal, doing the work day after day, your principled doing will form habits, which make you who you are.
The end result is not the goal, but who you become through the process of repeatedly doing.
