If free will is an illusion, does this mean we are powerless to change our lives?
Or, can we still change our future for the better based on past events by making good choices…?
My interpretation of the debate between Sam Harris and Daniel Dennett about free will is that yes, we can change ourselves by making good choices.
As long as the world operates in a deterministic way, rather than a fatalistic way, then… “our thoughts and actions in the present influence how we think and act in the future.”
